South Jordan police say woman found dead after domestic violence call died by suicide

Police have determined that a woman found dead Monday morning in a South Jordan home died by suicide.

Someone called police to report domestic violence at the home early Monday. When officers arrived at around 6 a.m., they helped a man to leave; a news release states Ashley Sorenson, 35, had a gun, but officers left too because “no crime had occurred." Her death was discovered when the man asked a friend to go check on Sorenson later that morning.
