Who started a fire at Latter-day Saint church in Utah? Authorities offer reward.

Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information about an arson fire at a Latter-day Saint church building in Cottonwood Heights.

The Unified Fire Authority and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are looking for whoever was responsible for starting the fire at the meetinghouse at 3625 E. Dover Hill Drive early Sunday. There were no injuries, but the blaze caused an estimated $800,000 damage.

The fire began in the foyer area of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ward building. When fire crews arrived at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, flames were shooting out of the front entrance. The blaze, which was extinguished by 3:26 a.m., caused heavy smoke damage throughout, according to UFA.

The investigation is continuing.
