North Logan man charged with luring a 13-year-old to his apartment and raping her

A North Logan man has been charged with raping a 13-year-old girl who police say he lured to his apartment by pretending to be a friend of hers online.

Tristan Todd Larson, 20, has been charged in 1st District Court with rape of a child, a first-degree felony.

According to a probable cause statement, the victim said that on June 22 she was contacted on Snapchat — an online messaging app — by a person she believed was a female, middle-school classmate. The victim agreed to meet the girl at her home at the North Pointe Apartments in North Logan, and took a bus to get there.

When she arrived at the apartment, she was surprised when Larson answered the door. The victim told police that Larson pulled her inside, tied a bandana around her mouth, pushed her down the hallway to a bedroom and onto his bed and raped her. She ran out of the apartment after the rape and later reported what happened to police.

Larson was arrested on July 10 and booked into the Cache County jail. In addition to the rape charge, he faces two class-B misdemeanors for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $21,360.
