A former Utah woman and her teenage son were among 3 stabbed to death in Virginia. A baby and a toddler were spared.

A former Utah woman, her teenage son and her boyfriend were found stabbed to death in their Virginia home, while the lives of a toddler and an infant were spared.

According to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to the home on Wednesday morning to investigate a report of a dead body. When they arrived, they discovered the bodies of Rachel Ozuna, 34; her 14-year-old son, Kyrrus Ozuna; and her boyfriend, Michael Coleman, 39.

“This case has been officially ruled a homicide and the manners of death appear to be from a sharp instrument,” according to police. They have released no further information.

The two young children — both under the age of 2 — were dehydrated but unharmed, police said. It’s unknown how long the children had been alone in the house after the killings.

Rachel Ozuna grew up in Mapleton and lived in Spanish Fork before moving to Virginia.

Ozuna’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to “get their funeral arrangements together and [get] Rachel and Ky home to Utah. … Our families are completely devastated. No reason imaginable is reason enough for these 3 to meet their end the way they did.”
