TRAX service will remain disrupted throughout the day on Thursday after an overhead electrical line that powers the trains fell on one Tuesday night, causing sparks, an explosion and a fire.
According to a UTA spokesman, repairs are expected to be completed by Friday morning, and bus bridges on all three lines — Blue, Red and Green — will continue in Salt Lake City until then. As will “significant delays,” according to UTA.
The equipment malfunction occurred about 10 p.m. Tuesday at 350 S. Main Street; the cause remains under investigation. One of the approximately 30 passengers on board the train was treated at a hospital for a wrist injury; all other passengers and the driver got off safely.
