Remains found in the foothills in Cache County have been identified as a Wyoming man missing since late November.

Kyle Ryan Burton, of Lovell, was last seen in River Heights City on Nov. 28, according to the Cache County Sheriff’s Office.

He would have been 19, if he survived until his birthday on Dec. 16,

Family, friends and volunteers had searched for Burton after his disappearance, but no one found him until Sunday, when hikers came across the remains in the foothills near Providence City.

Cache County authorities didn’t immediately respond to questions about what Burton was doing in the area before he died or whether police suspect foul play.

When Burton went missing, police said he liked the outdoors and hiking in local canyons.
