Utah boy killed in four-wheeler rollover at Coral Pink Sand Dunes

A 13-year-old boy Utah County was killed Thursday in an OHV accident at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park in Kane County.

About 5 p.m. Thursday, Colton R. Hansen, from Eagle Mountain, was riding a four-wheeler with friends and family when he went over a dune and tumbled down the other side multiple times, according to a statement from Utah State Parks.

Kane County medical personnel performed CPR, but the boy was pronounced dead before a rescue helicopter arrived, according to the statement from Eugene Swalberg.

Colton was wearing a helmet and had the proper flagging at the time of the accident, according to a Utah Department of Natural Resources news release. He had also completed the required off-highway vehicle safety course.
