Want to dine outside this winter? We found dozens of restaurants with heated patios.

Outdoor dining in Utah typically ends in October when cooler weather hits.

But with the coronavirus pandemic continuing — and many diners still hesitant to spend prolonged periods inside public buildings — restaurants and bars are keeping their patios open during the winter.

We found dozens across the Wasatch Front that have turned on the heat with fire pits and propane heaters.

The list doesn’t include businesses that have added enclosed structures like domes, igloos, yurts and greenhouses. Health department officials say those are essentially like eating inside.

If you plan to enjoy a meal in the crisp winter air, business owners recommend you dress accordingly with a coat, hat and gloves.

Also, it’s perfectly acceptable to BYOB — bring your own blanket.
