Which one of these summer sippers will win Park City’s annual cocktail contest?

On a hot July day, which cocktail sounds most refreshing: Tap Haus Tea, Alpine Fizz or Botanical Love?

Those are three of the 24 original — and uniquely named — cocktails competing in the annual Summer Cocktail Contest, sponsored by the Park City Area Restaurant Association in 2019.

Throughout July, locals and visitors — 21 and older — are invited to go to area restaurants and try the summer sippers. They then can vote for their favorites at parkcityrestaurants.com. One vote may be cast per day, per email address.

Mixologist Trevor Brown from Tupelo restaurant won the 2018 contest with his Cherry in the Rye, made with rye whiskey, ginger liqueur, a port reduction and club soda.

“We’ve had such a positive response from our restaurant community about this year’s summer cocktail contest,” association Executive Director Ginger Wicks said in a news release announcing the contest. “Their excitement is contagious, and we can’t wait for guests to try their latest creations and cast votes for their favorites.”

The bartender or mixologist with the winning cocktail will earn a $200 cash prize, bragging rights and be featured in a marketing campaign leading into the association’s popular fall “Dine About” event.
