A luxury hotel built around a geothermal hot spring in Midway is about a year away from opening, but it’s already attracting some big names in food, hospitality and wellness.
The 80-room hotel, called Ameyalli Park City by Appellation, is slated to debut sometime in 2026, according to a news release Wednesday from the hotel brand Appellation.
The brand was founded by former Four Seasons president Christopher Hunsberger and acclaimed chef Charlie Palmer, whose New York steakhouse Aureole has earned 13 Michelin stars and two James Beard Awards.
Palmer and Hunsberger have teamed with Deepak Chopra, the New Age author and wellness advocate, on the resort hotel, for which Chopra and developer Charles Heath broke ground in 2023.

The 78-acre location in Midway — about 10 minutes from the expanded portion of Deer Valley — boasts 28 natural hot springs and wide views of the Wasatch Mountains, the company’s release said.
The resort will include 80 rooms, a restaurant and bar created by Palmer, a separate “farm-to-table” restaurant and a “wellbeing center” with a spa and a luxury pool. The location will also feature a project, the Ameyalli Center of Excellence, that embraces Chopra’s teachings.
Chopra in a statement released by Appellation said his partnership with the company “aligns with my vision of creating spaces where wellbeing, consciousness and technology converge.”
“By integrating best-in-class A.I., holistic well-being practices and authentic culinary experiences,” the statement continued, “Ameyalli will offer guests a transformative journey toward self-discovery and renewal.”

Ameyalli is one of six resorts Appellation plans to open in the next year and a half, according to its website. It’s the only one not located in northern California.
A hotel in Healdsburg, north of San Francisco, is slated to open this summer, as is the Wine & Roses Resort and Spa in Lodi, east of the Bay Area. Locations in or adjacent to California’s wine country — in Morgan Hill, Petaluma and Pacific Grove — are scheduled to open in 2026.
