Salt Lake’s beloved pop culture and comic convention — FanX — will host a Christmas movie reunion of sorts in 2025.

FanX announced Thursday afternoon that Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid, who play Clark Griswold and Cousin Eddie in the 1989 film “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” will be in attendance at the convention in late September. At this time, it’s unclear if the stars will participate in a panel or photo opportunities.

Every year, FanX hosts thousands of fanatics from various fandoms in downtown Salt Lake City. From watching iconic stars speak, to walking through a never-ending vendor floor, attendees have the opportunity to get their nerd on.

More than 65 celebrity guests have been booked for the 2025 iteration of the convention, according to a spokesperson for FanX. Those guests include Ian Somerhalder (“The Vampire Diaries,”) Nikki Reed (“Twlight” franchise) and more.

Local legends with large fandoms, like fantasy author Brandon Sanderson, will also be at this year’s convention. At last year’s convention, Sanderson announced that he will be building a bookstore in Pleasant Grove.

There are single-day and three-day passes available for purchase for FanX, as well as individual photo packages.
