See which landmarks made it onto Park City’s Monopoly board

Company chose 27 locations to populate this edition of the classic game.

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Mr. Monopoly on Park City's Main Street as a special Park City edition of Monopoly is announced on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. The 27 Park City locations chosen for the game board were announced Feb. 1, 2024.

You don’t necessarily have to drive to Park City to go to the Java Cow, No Name Saloon or Guardsman Pass. You could just land on Chance.

Those landmarks and businesses are among the 27 incorporated into a new Park City edition of Monopoly, according to the company Top Trumps USA.

The company announced last May that it would be creating a Park City-based version of the classic board game and took submissions through June on what places should substitute for the Atlantic City avenues of the original.

Top Trumps USA, which licenses Monopoly from Hasbro, announced the locations chosen for the game board at an event Thursday evening at The St. Regis Deer Valley. That luxury hotel, as it happens, fills the spot of Boardwalk, the game’s priciest property. (It’s paired with the Utah Olympic Park to form the dark-blue group of properties.)

Other noteworthy businesses in the game include Tupelo Park City, The Eating Establishment, High West Distillery and the Boneyard Saloon.

The corner spaces — Go, Jail, Free Parking and Go to Jail — remain the same as ever. So do the tokens, the paper money, and the houses and hotels.

The game is meant to “celebrate everything this beloved mountain town has to offer, from its world-renowned recreational and natural gems to its artistic culture and its historic and charming downtown landmarks,” Aaron Green, a representative for Top Trumps USA, said in a statement.

Monopoly: Park City Edition sells for $39.99 at Amazon, CVS and other retailers, the company said. It’s one of 28 regional versions Top Trumps sells, from Portland, Maine, to Santa Barbara, Calif., according to its website.
