‘Real Housewives of SLC’ star Mary Cosby charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor

She pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charges.

Another one of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” has landed in court. Mary Cosby has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and providing shelter to a runaway, both class B misdemeanors.

Cosby, 48, pleaded not guilty. Details of the charges, which are related to an incident that happened on April 8, are not available. But according to the charges, Cosby “knowingly and intentionally harbored a minor and knew at the time” she was doing so “without the permission of the parent or guardian.” And that she “knew or should have known” that she was “causing or encouraging a minor to commit an act which would be a misdemeanor or infraction criminal violation ... if committed by an adult.”

A representative for Cosby told E! News, “Mary is saddened that she was dragged into another family’s domestic situation but is confident that this misunderstanding will be cleared up soon.”

A pretrial conference is scheduled for Aug. 12. According to court documents, the recommended fine for Cosby is $1,380.

Bravo, which airs “RHOSLC,” has not commented on charges — and has not confirmed that Cosby will return for Season 2 of the series. Unofficially, however, she reportedly will be back.

The “Real Housewives” cast member is the first lady of the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church in Salt Lake City, where her husband, Robert C. Cosby, is the pastor. In Season 1 of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” much was made of the fact that Robert is not only much older than Mary, but his first wife was Mary’s grandmother.

Cosby is the second “RHOSLC” cast member to end up in court since the series debuted. Her main rival on the show, Jen Shah, is facing federal charges conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Shah, too, has pleaded not guilty. On Thursday, a federal judge rejected her lawyers’ motions to dismiss the charges against her. Shah is scheduled to go on trial on Oct. 18 in New York.
