Utah football’s second-highest rated recruit in this year’s class has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from CBS Sports.
Four-star safety and receiver Salesi Moa signed with the Utes in December after flipping his commitment from Tennessee on early signing day.
Now the freshman has opted to enter the transfer portal and could join former Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham at Michigan, according to 247Sports’ latest projection.
Before signing with the Utes in December, Moa ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Utah and the No. 45 player in the 2025 recruiting class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
Whittingham has already successfully lured a handful of Utah players to Ann Arbor. All-American defensive end John Henry Daley, defensive tackle Jonah Lea’ea and freshman wide receiver/tight end JJ Buchanan have all committed to the Wolverines.
Utah’s 2026 recruiting class was ranked No. 37 in the nation and fifth in the Big 12 before Moa’s exit.
