Utah quarterback, a former four-star recruit, enters transfer portal — again

Isaac Wilson has spent two seasons with the Utes after committing to the program in the 2024 class.

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah quarterback Isaac Wilson (11) warms up on the field before Big-12 Football action between the Utah Utes and the Kansas State Wildcats at Rice-Eccles Stadium, on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025.

Former Utah sophomore quarterback Isaac Wilson reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal on Monday.

Wilson, formerly a four-star recruit in the Utes 2024 recruiting class, entered the season as Utah’s backup quarterback before being overtaken by true freshman Byrd Ficklin during the season.

After former star quarterback Cam Rising went down with multiple injuries last season, Wilson was catapulted into a starting role where he completed 56.4% of his passes, threw for 1,510 yards, 10 passing touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Wilson previously entered the transfer portal last offseason before rejoining the program in January. He appeared in only one game this season, maintaining his redshirt year.

The Draper native will have three seasons of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career.
