Utah football’s stars were banged up. Here’s how they’re looking ahead of Saturday’s must-win game.

Devon Dampier and Smith Snowden are in good health ahead of Utah’s matchup versus the Baylor Bears.

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah Utes quarterback Devon Dampier (4) looks to throw against the Cincinnati Bearcats at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Nov. 1, 2025.

Coming off its bye week, Utah appears to be in good health heading into its matchup against Baylor.

In his Monday news conference, Ute head coach Kyle Whittingham shared updates on the health of star quarterback Devon Dampier and cornerback Smith Snowden.

“We feel good about them,” Whittingham said. “We won’t tell anyone what they’re doing, but you’ll get to read the report [that comes out on Wednesday].”

Well, based on Utah’s availability reports, the Utes will have both Dampier and Snowden available for their matchup on Saturday against the Bears.

An even more encouraging sign for every Utah fan: It appears the Utes have a clean bill of health. Not one player was listed on the team’s availability report Thursday evening.

Utah, ranked at No. 13 in the College Football Playoff top 25, is now focused on winning out for a potential shot at making an at-large bid to the postseason.

“We enjoyed this time off to get healthy,” Dampier said this week. “But we have to win out, simple as that. One week at a time. That’s the message we’re focusing on ahead of Baylor this week. That’s all our focus is.”
