Utah State announced Wednesday that the Aggies will play at Alabama on Sept. 3, 2022.

Alabama will pay USU $1,910,000, which is the third-largest dollar amount ever paid to a visiting football team.

This will be the third time that Utah State has traveled to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play the Crimson Tide. The Aggies previously played there in 2004 and 2005.

“We look forward to the opportunity for our student-athletes to compete against Alabama, as well as the opportunity for our fans to enjoy one of the best game day experiences in all of college football,” said Utah State athletic director John Hartwell.

Utah State is 1-17 against current members of the Southeastern Conference all-time, including an 0-2 record against Alabama.

USU’s lone win against an SEC school came back in 1970, when it won 35-6 at Kentucky. The last time USU played an SEC opponent was in 2014, when it opened the season at Tennessee.

Kickoff time and broadcast plans will be announced at a later date.
