Real Salt Lake has acquired Major League Soccer veteran DeAndre Yedlin in a trade with FC Cincinnati.
RSL said it gave up $304,700 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM) in the deal.
“RSL is an historic club in MLS, with an amazing reputation around the League,” Yedlin said in a news release. “... “As a visitor, I always hated to travel there – it’s a tough place to play, at altitude, against a high-energy team. You know you’re gonna get a tough game, against a team that plays good football and is fun to watch. RSL has always had what it takes to compete. It was exciting to hear of their interest in me becoming part of the setup at RSL, and something my family and I needed to explore.”
Yedlin, 32, has been a fixture for the U.S. Men’s National Team throughout a career that has seen him star in MLS (Seattle, Miami, Cincinnati) and Europe, where he played 151 games for Newcastle before making stops at Tottenham, Sunderland and Galatasaray.
He is expected to train with RSL on Thursday and could make his debut with the club on Saturday when Minnesota United visits America First Field.
