Real Salt Lake forward Corey Baird (17) pushes the ball past Toronto FC goalkeeper Quentin Westberg (16) as Real Salt Lake hosts Toronto FC, MLS Soccer at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy on Saturday May 18, 2019.
Real Salt Lake forward and former academy player Corey Baird has agreed to a new contract with the club, per a report in The Athletic.
Baird’s new deal is guaranteed for three years, per the report, and stands to give him a “significant raise” from the $70,000 he earned last season.
RSL picked up Baird’s contract option for 2019 in November. This deal appears to be akin to a renegotiation rather than an extension.
Baird started 23 of his 31 games in 2019, scoring five goals and assisting on four others. He was the 2018 MLS Rookie of the Year.
