Real Salt Lake will face Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt in an international friendly at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 10, RSL announced Friday.

“I am very happy about that,” said RSL midfielder Damir Kreilach, who transferred from German second division club Union Berlin during the offseason. “Eintracht Frankfurt is a very, very good team, and they are this year one surprise in the German Bundesliga.”

Eintracht Frankfurt (13-6-6) sits in fourth in the league standings.

Kreilach, a former Croatian youth national team player, also spoke highly of the German side’s manager Niko Kovač, who coached the Croatian senior national team from October 2013 to September 2015, and forward Ante Rebic, a Croatian international.

Asked how Eintracht could make things difficult for RSL, Kreilach smiled and said, “I think that it will be difficult for them. And yes, we will give the best of ourselves to get the win, and we must be very organized in the game and very compact.”

This will be the third consecutive year that RSL has hosted a European club, playing England superpower Manchester United last summer and legendary Italian club Inter Milan the season before.

Eintracht Frankfurt will train in Herriman at Zion Bank Real Academy.
