Source: RSL is close to adding young Argentinian midfielder to its roster

Real Salt Lake is close to adding Argentinian midfielder Pablo Ruiz to its roster pending the processing of the final paperwork, according to a league source.

Nexo-Libra Deportes, a Chilean radio station, also reported Saturday that Ruiz had told them of his impending move.

Should the paperwork go through, the 19-year-old will come to RSL from CD San Luis de Quillota of the Chilean first division. Ruiz also has experience on the youth international stage, including three appearances for Argentina in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The left-footed midfielder can play centrally as a box-to-box mid, adding depth to a position that has been rather thin for RSL. Luke Mulholland is the only pure box-to-box midfielder currently on the roster.
