Utah Jazz are waiving one of their injured guards

(Rob Gray | AP) Utah Jazz guard Vince Williams Jr. (0) brings the ball up the court against the Sacramento Kings during the second half of an NBA basketball game, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, in Salt Lake City.
After picking up Vince Williams at the trade deadline, the Utah Jazz are waiving the fourth-year guard, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Williams tore his ACL in a game against the Houston Rockets on Feb. 23, just his sixth game with the team. The injury would impact his availability for next season, where the Jazz hoped Williams would be a key part of the 2026 roster.
The Jazz also need to add players to finish out this season, already depleted with injuries. Waiving Williams allows the organization to do so.

Utah brought Williams in from Memphis in the Jaren Jackson Jr. trade, along with John Konchar.
Williams, the former VCU guard, averaged 7.5 points and four assists this year.
