Photos: NBA gives a preview of All-Star weekend behind the scenes
Local media get a tour of the arena setup, and some cool little details of the various jerseys and game balls being used in the various events.
(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Vivint Arena undergoes its transformation by the NBA on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, for the All-Star weekend.
The NBA invited local media inside Vivint Arena on Wednesday morning to get an early look at what the venue and some of the events will look like.
There’s a 4,000-square foot stage with 14 million video pixels. There are some 700 extra lights and 51 cameras brought in for a broadcast that will reach 215 countries worldwide. There are the jerseys for the four teams participating in the Rising Stars tournament, and the unique basketballs being used in the 3-Point Contest.
And there was a video introduction for the three-player, three-team Skills Challenge participants that still included Mike Conley on the Utah Jazz. Oops. Otherwise, it was a cool hour-and-a-half peek at some stuff most locals won’t get to see in person.
