The playoffs are here and for the Utah Jazz, it’s been a glass half full.

Or maybe half empty.

While it can be seen as a good thing that Quin Snyder’s team got a 1-1 split on the road, some might see the series so far as an opportunity lost. Game 2 featured a slew of Jazz defensive mistakes, fouls and poor decision making. Yet, they were still in position to win the game thanks to the play of Jordan Clarkson, Donovan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovic.

But credit to the Mavs who got a win without their star, Luka Doncic.

The Jazz got exposed on perimeter defense, of course. It’s nothing new, as we saw a similar thing last season in the playoffs against the LA Clippers.

So is it time for Snyder to adjust his game plan? Or is it a case of you can’t bench your best defender in Gobert and the team must find a way to defend with their starters? Also, is it fair to ask even more of Mitchell in order for the Jazz to eliminate the Mavs?

On the latest episode of The Tribune’s “How ‘Bout This Jazz” podcast, host/moderator Xoel Cardenas and Tribune Jazz beat reporters Andy Larsen and Eric Walden break down what needs to be adjusted for the Jazz to take control of the series against the Mavs, as the series moves to Salt Lake City for Games 3 and 4.
