The senior guard scored 43 points in the Tigers boys’ basketball team’s 71-63 win over Snow Canyon on Wednesday. He then scored 23 points in a 55-49 loss to Canyon View on Friday. Last has scored at least 20 points in 15 of his team’s 17 games and is averaging 26.8 points in addition to 8.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists this season.
Keaton Morrison, Viewmont

The senior ice hockey goalie only allowed 10 goals in 14 games to help the Vikings finish the regular season 15-0. He finished with seven shutouts and a 0.71 goals-against average. Viewmont is the top seed in the Division 1 affiliated state tournament and will face the winner of Brighton vs. East in the state quarterfinals at 8 p.m. Feb. 7.
Carly Blake, Union

The junior guard has led the Union girls’ basketball team in scoring in three of the Cougars’ last four games. She scored 13 in her team’s 64-13 win over Maeser Prep on Tuesday then dropped 14 in a 63-40 win over Delta on Friday. She’s averaging 8.4 points per game this season for the 14-4 Cougars.

The number of points separating first-place Davis and runner-up Weber at the Region 1 boys’ swimming championships Friday. The Darts scored 410 points to 376 for the Warriors. The Davis girls’ team also won the region title, scoring 439.5 points to Weber’s 430.5.

The number of 3-pointers Skyridge sophomore Keylee Melling made in the Falcons’ 70-47 win over Maple Mountain in girls’ basketball action Friday. Melling made 9 of her 11 attempts from beyond the arc. Her 27 points were a season high, and the nine made 3s were four more than her second-best effort. She’s shooting 39 percent on 3s this season.

The number of consecutive games with a double-double for Grand County boys’ basketball player Cameron Hoppensteadt entering Saturday night’s game. The junior’s streak started Jan. 13 with 21 points and 19 rebounds in an 89-84 win over South Sevier. He then scored 17 points and grabbed 12 boards in a 90-86 win over Emery on Jan. 17. He went for 20 points and 13 rebounds Wednesday in a 95-86 win over San Juan before scoring 18 and snaring 12 boards in Friday’s 59-56 win over North Sanpete. He’s averaging 11.8 point and 8.4 rebounds per game for the 14-3 Red Devils.
