AJ Dybantsa and the BYU Cougars will start the season ranked inside the Top 10.

BYU came in at No. 8 in the country in the Associated Press’ preseason poll, which was released Monday. It was the team’s highest ranking ever in the preseason poll and the team’s first appearance in the preseason poll since 2010.

While the Cougars enter the season with plenty of hype and high expectations, the preseason rankings also indicate how difficult the team’s schedule might be this year.

BYU will face No. 2 Houston, No. 4 UConn, No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 13 Arizona, No. 16 Iowa State, No. 19 Kansas and No. 24 Wisconsin this season. The Cougars play Texas Tech and Arizona twice during the season.
