The BYU Cougars haven’t won at Rice-Eccles Stadium since 2006.

But Kalani Sitake’s team will be favorites when they visit Salt Lake City on Saturday.

The Cougars were 3.5-point favorites at the MGM sports book and 4.5-point favorites elsewhere when the first betting lines were released Sunday afternoon.

The path forward

BYU is 8-0 and leading the Big 12 Conference, while Utah is 4-4 having lost four straight games.

With Iowa State’s loss on Saturday night, BYU’s path to the conference title game looks clear.

The Cougars are favored in each of their final four games, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index.

Nov. 9 at Utah — 59.3%

Nov. 16 vs. Kansas — 64.3%

Nov. 23 at Arizona State – 50.1%

Nov. 30 vs. Houston — 84.3%

The struggling Utes will be underdogs the rest of the way.

Nov. 9 vs. BYU — 40.7%

Nov. 16 at Colorado — 26.9%

Nov. 23 vs. Iowa State – 36.4%

But Utah will look to play spoiler, especially against the rival Cougars.

This will be the first time the Utes and Cougars have met as conference foes in over a decade and their first time playing since September 2021.

BYU was a seven-point underdog in that game but pulled off a 26-17 upset over the Utes in Provo.

Kickoff for Saturday’s rivalry game is set for 8:!5 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
