BYU’s Alex Barcello and Utah State’s Neemias Queta named AP honorable mention All-Americans

Both were also named to their respective conferences’ first-team.

As sixth-seeded BYU and No. 11 Utah State prepare for the NCAA Tournament, both programs from the Beehive State will go into March Madness with All-Americans on their squads.

On Tuesday, BYU guard Alex Barcello and Utah State center Neemias Queta were named honorable mention All-Americans by The Associated Press.

Barcello, who transferred from Arizona to BYU two years ago, is averaging 15.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game for the Cougars. Queta is averaging 15.1 points, 10 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game his junior season.

Both players received all-conference first-team honors from their respective league, while Queta was also named the Mountain West Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year.
