A Snow College wrestler was killed in a car crash last week.

Luke Peltier, a sophomore from Palmer, Alaska, was traveling east on Interstate 70 near Richfield on Wednesday when he crossed into the median and crashed, according to the school.

“Snow College athletics mourns this tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends. We are so sorry,” Athletic Director Rob Nielson said in a news release.

A GoFundMe for Peltier’s family described the wrestler’s legacy as “one of constant happiness and joy.”

“We are heartbroken to learn of this tragic accident; the Snow College family is grieving the loss of one of our own,” school President Stacee McIff said. “We offer Luke’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches our comfort and support during this very difficult time.”
