State colleges: Utah Valley holds off Westminster

Orem • Le’Tre Darthard and Jamison Overton scored 16 points apiece as Utah Valley got past Westminster 79-71 on Wednesday night.

Blaze Nield added 13 points, Fardaws Aimaq scored 12 and Trey Woodbury had 11 for the Wolverines. Nield also had six assists, while Aimaq posted 18 rebounds and three assists.

Joey Andrews had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Griffins. Taylor Miller added 15 points. Jarrett Jordan had 11 points.

SUU women’s basketball pauses activities

The Southern Utah women’s basketball program has paused all activities following a positive test among their Tier 1 individuals.

The team will not be making its scheduled road trip to Montana this weekend and its games against the Grizzlies on Dec. 3 and 5 will be declared non-contests. The games will not be rescheduled per Big Sky policy.
