State colleges: Washington women’s basketball team routs BYU 77-48

Freshman Tameiya Sadler scored 23 points, and the Washington defense stifled BYU as the Huskies cruised to a 77-48 victory Saturday night in Las Vegas.

The Huskies (2-0) forced 11 turnovers and held the Cougars to 27% shooting from the field.

Lauren Gustin had 13 points and 10 rebounds for BYU (1-1).

Idaho State 85, Utah State 61 • In Pocatello, Idaho, the Aggies went 19 of 59 from the field, including 6 of 20 from 3-point range, and fell to 1-1 on the season.

Meagan Mendazona led USU with 16 points.

Utah State women’s basketball (1-1, 0-0 MW) suffered its first defeat of the season as the Aggies fell, 85-61, to Idaho State (1-0, 0-0 Big Sky) on Saturday inside Reed Gym in Pocatello, Idaho.

Idaho State was led by senior guard Dora Goles, who finished with 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting.
