Cowboys quickly sign Utah linebacker Francis Bernard as free agent after NFL Draft ends

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah Utes linebacker Francis Bernard (13) runs after making an interception as the Utah Utes host the Washington State Cougars, NCAA football at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on Saturday Sept. 28, 2019.

Seven University of Utah players were selected in the NFL Draft, but more than seven will get a crack as a professional.

With rookie mini-camps off with the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, first-year players like Bernard will go through virtual workouts and class sessions until team facilities open.
