Jazz announce Summer League mini-camp roster

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Tony Bradley of the Utah Jazz speaks with the media following their season-ending game at the team practice facility on Thursday, April 25. 2019.

It’s an inexperienced bunch, but then again, isn’t finding experience for the inexperienced what summer league is for?

Thursday afternoon, the Jazz released their summer league mini-camp roster, the 15 players that will practice with the team ahead of the Salt Lake Summer League that begins on July 1.

Only two players have NBA experience: the Jazz’s Tony Bradley and center Willie Reed. The former has played two seasons in the NBA, albeit in only 12 combined games over two seasons since being drafted No. 28 in 2017. Bradley is also the youngest player on the roster. Reed has three years of NBA experience, 152 games over three NBA seasons with four different teams.

Five who played for the Jazz’s G League affiliate Salt Lake City Stars were named to the roster: Isaiah Cousins, Tre’Shaun Fletcher, Jairus Lyles, Tanner McGrew and Reed.

The Jazz’s three second-round picks, Jarrell Brantley, Miye Oni and Justin Wright-Foreman, also figure to play big roles. All played at smaller conferences, so the jump to summer league competition will be revealing.
