Los Angeles • Kenta Maeda struck out 10 over five scoreless innings, and the Los Angeles Dodgers finally found their offense to beat the San Francisco Giants 5-0 on Saturday night for their first win of the season.

After striking out 18 times in a pair of 1-0 defeats to open the season, the Dodgers got the loudest cheers in the first inning for a sacrifice fly by Yasiel Puig that scored their first run off Derek Holland (0-1). Matt Kemp followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0.

Kike Hernandez added a run with another sacrifice fly in the third.

Maeda (1-0) allowed five hits and walked one. He faced baserunners in every inning except the fifth.

The Dodgers extended their lead to 5-0 in the fourth on a two-run error by center fielder Gregor Blanco. Kyle Farmer was safe at second after Blanco and right fielder Andrew McCutchen miscommunicated on a fly ball and Blanco dropped it, allowing Cody Bellinger and Austin Barnes to score. Holland walked both Bellinger and Barnes.

Holland gave up five runs — three earned — and three hits in five innings. The left-hander struck out four and walked three.

The Giants collected nine hits and left 10 runners on base while failing to advance anyone past second.

Joe Panik, whose solo homers beat the Dodgers in the first two games, hit into a game-ending double play in the ninth.

McCutchen and Evan Longoria — two big offseason acquisitions for the Giants — continued to struggle. McCutchen is 1 for 12 with two strikeouts and Longoria is 0 for 11 with four strikeouts in their first three games.

Maeda pitched out of a jam in the second. He gave up two-out singles to Hunter Pence and Blanco, putting the tying runs on first and second before Holland struck out looking to end the inning.

Cubs 10, Marlins 6, 10 innings • In Miami, Ben Zobrist had a tiebreaking RBI single and Kris Bryant followed with a bases-clearing double in a four-run 10th for Chicago, which beat the Marlins after Yu Darvish struggled in his first start for the Cubs.

Darvish pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing five hits, five runs and two walks while hitting two batters. He struck out four.

Braves 15, Phillies 2 • In Atlanta, Ender Inciarte drove in four runs with three hits, Ryan Flaherty had four hits and scored four times, and the Braves roughed up Philadelphia.

Vince Velasquez (0-1) was charged with seven runs, four earned, and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings.

Nationals 13, Reds 7 • In Cincinnati, Adam Eaton had a solo homer among his career-high five hits and Brian Goodwin hit his first career grand slam, powering Washington over the Reds.

The Nationals have won their first two games under new manager Dave Martinez.

Rockies 2, Diamondbacks 1 • In Phoenix, Charlie Blackmon homered twice, and Colorado salvaged the final game of its season-opening series in Arizona. Blackmon’s three hits in the series were all homers.

Mets 6, Cardinals 2 • In New York, Yoenis Cespedes and Travis d’Arnaud homered, Todd Frazier drove in three runs and the Mets beat St. Louis.

Jacob DeGrom pitched effectively into the sixth inning, and the Mets, under new manager Mickey Callaway, opened at 2-0 for the first time since 2013.

Brewers 7, Padres 3 • In San Diego, Christian Yelich tied his career high with five hits, and Milwaukee swept the Padres to improve to 3-0 for the first time since it won its first five games in 2006.

American League

Astros 9, Rangers 3 • In Arlington, Texas, Lance McCullers Jr. struck out 10 in 51⁄3 innings, Carlos Correa and Jake Marisnick hit two-run homers and Houston beat the Rangers.

Twins 6, Orioles 2 • In Baltimore, Minnesota right-hander Kyle Gibson (1-0) held the Orioles hitless over six innings before being replaced by Ryan Pressly, who kept the no-hitter intact until the eighth.

Gibson, Pressly and Gabriel Moya combined on a three-hitter for the Twins.

Blue Jays 5, Yankees 3 • In Toronto, Yangervis Solarte hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning, and Kevin Pillar added an insurance run by stealing second, third and home to send the Blue Jays over New York, which got two home runs from Tyler Austin.

Indians 6, Mariners 5 • In Seattle, Yonder Alonso hit his third career grand slam in the first inning, Yan Gomes added a two-run shot and Cleveland held on for a win over the Mariners.

Seattle’s Ichiro Suzuki, 44, robbed Jose Ramirez of a home run leading off the third inning, timing his leap perfectly to reach above the wall in left field and pull back the ball.

Red Sox 3, Rays 2 • In St. Petersburg, Fla., Xander Bogaerts homered, Rick Porcello carried a shutout into the sixth inning and Boston beat Tampa Bay.

Bogaerts also doubled in a run, giving him six extra-base hits three days into the season.

White Sox 4, Royals 3 • In Kansas City, Mo., Wellington Castillo delivered a go-ahead two-run double with two outs in the eighth inning, and Chicago rallied to beat Kansas City.
