Detroit Lions release former Utah running back Matt Asiata

The Detroit Lions released former Utah running back Matt Asiata on Friday.
Asiata played five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before signing with the Lions in May.
He played at Utah from 2007 to 2010, rushing for 24 career touchdowns with the Utes.
