(CHG Healthcare, sponsored) In 2023, the company introduced its first CHG Day of Purpose, giving employees companywide the opportunity to make a difference in the community.

CHG Healthcare isn’t just known as a top healthcare staffing company; it’s also known for its people-first culture that empowers employees to build rewarding careers and bring their whole selves to work. Recently, CHG’s culture was recognized as one of The Salt Lake Tribune’s Top Places to Work for its unwavering commitment to fostering an environment where every employee thrives, feels included, and can make a difference.

Here are just a few of the reasons people love working at CHG.

CHG’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Putting people first is at the foundation of CHG’s culture. The company is committed to ensuring that every employee feels valued, cared for, and included. One way they achieve this goal is with their employee inclusion groups, like the Pride Collective, Mixed Roots, and Women in Technology, to further support their diverse workforce.

CHG’s Pride Collective’s goal is to build a community that is welcoming and safe for all the LGBTQ+ member of the CHG family. Mixed Roots is dedicated to supporting the rich cultural heritage of the company’s diverse Latinx workforce, and CHG’s Women in Technology group champions the personal and professional development of women in technology-related roles.

Nicole Montague, director of software engineering, said she appreciates the connections and community the latter group creates. “The group gives us the chance to meet every month and talk openly about topics that impact us as women in technology,” she said. “It also gives us a safe space to support and understand each other better, even if we don’t work together every day.”

CHG knows that a diverse workforce brings fresh perspectives, creativity, and innovation to the table, making them more adaptable and competitive in the ever-evolving healthcare industry.

Working to make a positive impact in the community

CHG’s commitment to making a difference extends beyond the workplace and into the heart of our community. The company encourages its people to volunteer with organizations they’re passionate about, but it also supports their efforts by offering each employee generous paid volunteer time off.

In 2023, the company introduced its first CHG Day of Purpose, giving employees companywide the opportunity to make a difference in the community. More than 700 employees volunteered for 2,131 hours at more than 50 nonprofits in one day. CHG CEO Scott Beck joined employees volunteering at several locations in the Salt Lake City area to share their experience firsthand. “I went home tired but so incredibly proud of the work that we did in the community,” Beck said.

The volunteer event not only had an impact on the community, but it also helped build lasting connections with local nonprofits across the country.

Wasatch Community Gardens outreach and volunteer director Amber Nichols said, “They really made a difference in being able to accomplish our goals, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am.”

CHG understands that true purpose comes from empowering employees to make a difference, building a more meaningful work experience for everyone.

Cultivating career growth and development

CHG believes the growth of its employees directly contributes to the growth of its organization. Whether it’s training its people for promotions and leadership or supporting them in moving into a new role that meets their career goals, the company offers its people numerous opportunities for personal and professional development.

Kym Fessler started at the company as an assignment coordinator over 20 years ago and is now a senior director. “Because of the balance I have in my life, with the help of supportive leaders, colleagues, and the major flexibility offered by CHG, I was able to grow into the person and leader I am now,” she said. “The growth is here if you want it.”
