Photos: Muslims break Ramadan fasting with community iftar

Members of the Islamic Society of Greater Salt Lake broke their Ramadan fast Saturday night with a community iftar, during which they shared a meal with non-Muslim neighbors. The event at the Khadeeja Islamic Center included prayers, a social, and a traditional dinner of rice, bread, lamb curry and more. Ramadan is a month of self-regulation and self-training — including fasting and prayer, according to a release from the society. The religious festival started on May 27 and concludes June 24.
