Cathrine Vega prepares 3-year-old Lucia Vega for her role as an angel in the Christmas pageant prior to the Christmas Eve Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church in west Salt Lake City. Christians gathered in churches across the globe on the eve before Christmas to celebrate the birth of their Lord. Followers flocked to St. Patrick to take part in the sacred rites and to ring in the holiday.
