I would like to thank Lt. Gov. Henderson for protecting Utah voters’ private data. With all the pressure that is being put on her to release the data, I appreciate her courage in standing up for the citizens in Utah. I hope she will continue to stand strong in protecting our data and not give in to these unprecedented demands.
I am saddened by what is happening in our country. I feel like this administration is trying to make it harder and harder for us to vote. This is a privilege I have never taken lightly, and I feel very strongly about my rights as a voter. If our voter data isn’t protected, it will only be the beginning of our voting rights being taken away from us. You have to ask, why do they want to make it more difficult for people to vote? The question our representatives should be asking is: How can we encourage more people to participate in the voting process?
Our lieutenant governor has done that. She has fought hard to keep mail-in ballots, which have been successful in Utah for many, many years. She has fought for our rights as voters, and for that I am grateful. My hope is that all of our representatives will fight this hard to protect our voting rights as well. Thank you, Lt. Gov. Henderson.
