Letter: We cannot vote for the same people (or the same party) and expect meaningful change

(Isaac Hale | Pool) Gov. Spencer Cox speaks as he debates with Rep. Phil Lyman during a gubernatorial GOP primary debate held at the Eccles Broadcast Center in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

Regarding the recent Public Forum letter, “Cox is the new Lyman” by David Harris:

Mr. Harris, you mentioned supporting Gov. Cox in the last election because you found Phil Lyman to be unacceptable, only to find yourself disappointed in Gov. Cox.

May I remind you and all of my fellow Utahns that your choices are not limited to the names appearing on the Republican section of your ballot.

Please give careful consideration to all candidates listed under all parties. We cannot vote for the same people (or the same party) and expect meaningful change or feign surprise or disappointment when the GOP party line is followed in lockstep with Trump.
