Letter: A vital message for Utah’s congressional delegation: Republicans must stop enabling Trump’s criminal enterprise

How many more innocent people must be shot, murdered, dragged from their cars and brutally beaten, tear gassed, kidnapped and sent to torture prisons without due process by Gestapo-like ICE thugs in Minnesota and elsewhere before you and your Republican colleagues take action to halt Trump’s unlawful reign of terror?

Clearly, Trump is not governing. He’s a would-be dictator running a mafia-style criminal enterprise fueled by lawlessness, incessant lies, extortion, unbounded cruelty, violating our Constitution, flagrant grifting and more.

Examples: Death threats and intimidation against his naysayers and journalists; an attempted coup on Jan. 6; pardoning the criminals who attacked the Capitol and injured 140 police officers; causing millions to suffer and some who’ll die by not restoring the ACA health care subsidies; denying vital services by firing 220,000 federal workers and illegally withholding funds from critical programs like SNAP, Social Security, FEMA, the VA and more; protecting pedophiles by censoring and withholding the Epstein files; and on and on, ad nauseam — all enabled by you and your complicit Republican colleagues, and a few corporate Democrats.

Leading mental health experts confirm Trump is mentally unfit for office. His rambling, incoherent speeches during his recent press conference and at the Davos Forum show he’s deranged, boasts about nonexistent accomplishments, has psychotic delusions of grandeur and is cognitively impaired.

Solving this crisis requires your bold, sweeping and urgent action. Trump must be removed from office along with his fascist puppeteer, Stephen Miller, architect of our downfall, as well as Trump’s deceitful sycophants like Bondi and Noem. The Project 2025 agenda must be abolished.

When the day of reckoning comes, how will you be remembered? As courageous champions for our bedrock American values, or having abdicated your responsibility to provide checks and balances, and failure to stand strong for America?
