With the appointment last year of Markus Poschner as music director of the Utah Symphony, the organization took a giant leap forward. No longer is this a decent regional orchestra; it’s now an ensemble worth the effort to see and hear.
I’ve been a Utah Symphony subscriber for nearly 35 years. I grew up in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, where I heard incredible performances led by great conductors such as Ormandy, Bernstein, Giulini, Mehta, Thomas, and Dudamel. Now I just need to drive 20 minutes to enjoy great performances!
If you’ve ever thought about giving symphonic music a try, now is the time. Maestro Poschner and the Utah Symphony are an absolute delight!
