Letter: The world the book banners dream of seems within reach

(Bethany Baker | The Salt Lake Tribune) A pamphlet of banned books in Utah sits on a shelf at Central Book Exchange in Salt Lake City Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024.

Per the article “The screen ate your child’s education” and the studies finding direct correlations between declining test scores and distracted students due to digital learning.

Seems to me that those who vehemently support banning books in schools and libraries might have the answer to their prayers to keep “bad books” out of reach of young hands.

Who knew laptops and tablets in classrooms could not only distract young minds from wanting to read books, but given test scores, actually create generations who can’t read books, banned or otherwise.
