I want to express my deep appreciation to The Salt Lake Tribune for publishing the image of Donald Trump’s birthday message to Jeffrey Epstein. In a state as conservative as Utah, stories like this can often be muted or avoided by local outlets. The Tribune’s willingness to report boldly and truthfully on such matters shows real journalistic courage.

At a time when too many media organizations shy away from controversial truths, The Tribune continues to provide a vital public service. You remind us that a free press is not only about relaying facts, but about holding the powerful accountable, no matter how uncomfortable the story may be.

Thank you for your commitment to honest reporting and for refusing to let important truths be buried. Utah is fortunate to have a newspaper willing to stand up for transparency.

Dale Palmer, Sandy
