Letter: It’s sickening to see people carrying enough water for Trump to save the Great Salt Lake

Despite my continued efforts to tune out anything Donald Trump has to say, it has come to my attention that he has taken to likening himself to a surgeon or physician.

Let me be clear that I don’t view most of the programs and services offered by our federal government as tumor-esque in any way. But elections have consequences, and this most recent one is no exception. I accept that budget cuts I don’t like may be coming. Fair enough.

However, if you’re someone who has seen even a few episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy,” you probably understand that tumors must be removed methodically and with a great deal of planning and care as to not harm or even kill the host.

Most people also understand that medicine, when not prescribed by someone with the proper credentials, can also cause considerable damage to the person taking it.

Surgeons don’t go into the operating room blindfolded and start whacking at a diseased organ with a chainsaw or pruning shears.

Trump isn’t anything like a surgeon.

To paraphrase Weird Al Yankovich, he was last in his class at the institute and now he’s trying to avoid a malpractice suit.

It’s sickening to see people — who would have never tolerated any of this from Obama — carrying enough water for Trump to save the Great Salt Lake.
