(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Gov. Spencer Cox at his monthly news conference in Salt Lake City on Friday, July 19, 2024.

A small note to our misguided Gov. Cox.

I am so disappointed and embarrassed that you chose to endorse a convicted felon, a convicted business fraudster, a proven liar, and an adjudicated sexual offender as your candidate for president of the United States.

Please don’t be too vocal about your endorsement of Trump, as it puts an indelible black stain on our beautiful state. My only consolation is that you now cannot elevate or misstate your values. The moral system that you believe in, is loud and clear. It’s all out in the open now.

Please research your candidate in more depth. I hope you might rethink your judgment after endorsing such an immoral man. Signed, a sad and embarrassed Utah.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
