Like many people these days, I’m concerned about the obvious cognitive decline of one of our elected public servants.
President Biden?
No, I speak of Sen. Mike Lee.
He used to frequently vocalize his opposition to judicial activism, yet in the wake of several recent decisions where judges have overturned long-standing precedents as well as ignoring one of the most basic foundational values of our nation, that no one is above the law, Lee seems to have forgotten his concern completely. He also used to make a lot of noise about excessive presidential power, and yet when the Supreme Court announced that our president is more like a king with complete immunity for their actions in office, he’s once again gone mute.
It also seems to have slipped his mind that he swore an oath to protect our Constitution, so I must assume his silence in the face of serious attacks on that most important document denotes a serious decline in his cognitive abilities. Even in the event of the shooting of a presidential candidate by a civilian with a dangerous military grade weapon, he voices his concern about — making sure everyone can still be similarly armed.
I’m very worried about having people with such obvious cognitive challenges in a position of power and what that could mean for our republic.
The only other explanation would be a serious lack of integrity, but surely that’s not Lee’s affliction — right?
