Letter: To be the paragon of negativity is to be the wrong role model for the country

“If you look for the good … or you look for the bad ... that’s what you’ll find.”

(Nicole Craine | The New York Times) Former President Donald Trump speaks at a campaign rally in Rome, Ga., on March 9, 2024.

There’s a saying, “If you look for the good … or you look for the bad ... that’s what you’ll find.”

Those who look for the good are generally upbeat, positive people, refreshing, encouraging, pleasant to be around. Their positivity is contagious.

Those who look for the bad are usually downers, negative people, distressing, exhausting to be around. Donald Trump is one who looks for the bad. Whenever he opens his mouth, ugly, angry words spew out. His negativity is contagious, like an infection that spreads to those who come in contact with him. His constant belittling and name-calling is repulsive, immature and promotes hate and bullying.

He is not the role model we need for our country.
