Letter: Republicans seem to all be working for Trump, and not for the American people

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Trump memorabilia is sold during the Utah Republican Party’s 2021 Organizing Convention at the Maverik Center in West Valley City on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

I see the political ads from Republicans on TV. The ads talk about the border, fentanyl and immigrants.

I would like to see reporters challenge Republicans and have them explain what will be different if we vote them into power?

For two years, since the Republican take over, the Congress has done nothing. Senate Republicans negotiated a bill addressing the border problems and then bowed to pressure from Donald Trump and would not vote for the bill. Republicans seem to all be working for Trump, and not for the American people.

Also, I would like to know their stand on abortion. Leave it up to the states or have a national ban?

How will they help the average Americans, not just the billionaires?

I would like to see the candidates challenged and have to answer questions, or have the press tell us they won’t.

Edward Cheadle, Sandy
