Letter: The chaos at the GOP caucus on Super Tuesday leads me to wonder whether my vote will be counted

(Bethany Baker | The Salt Lake Tribune) Carrie Christensen, a precinct host, leads voting during the presidential primary caucuses at Riverton High School in Riverton on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

I participated in the Republican caucus at Brighton High School in Cottonwood Heights on Tuesday evening. It was utter chaos.

Long lines to get registered. Then you had to find out where your precinct room was located. Once there, there was no one to accept my presidential ballot which was a tiny slip of paper. After waiting for an hour, I was able to drop my little slip of paper off with someone who was going to start the meeting without the chairman.

I find it so ironic that Republicans are constantly complaining of voter fraud and here we have a situation where these little slips of paper (obviously not a secret ballot) could be easily tossed in the garbage.

Will my vote be counted? I have no idea.

David Kliger, Cottonwood Heights
